Sfair v2.5
Today, 30th October, the Sfair version 2.5 is officially released after a year of development. It presents some nice improvements from the previous version (2.4).
The changelog for v2.5 is as follow:
- Hardware improvements
- 5kg lost.
- French hat.
- sun glasses.
- Minor bugs correction.
- Social detachment had an overall increase.
- A preliminary version of the ‘dance even if you don’t know how to dance’ module was added
- it currently works with Celtic (or Bretagne) songs
- it works even in subway stations
- Note: A funny easteregg can be activated using the sentence “the book is on the table”
- The social network was expanded overseas
- IDL is now an officially supported programming language (together with C, FORTRAN and BASH)
- L10n (language localization)
- Portuguese package now follows the recent orthographic reform.
- general improvement of the English module was done, specially listening/writing.
- basic support to French was added.
- new version of polish module is present (although the current dictionary contains only the correct pronunciation of the word Skłodowska).
- simple version of Swedish dictionary with 2 words was lost due to a memory failure.
- The SPICE support is being rewritten from scratch. A preliminary version is available though.
- The teacher function now works with Celestial Mechanics, as well Computer Programming and Applied Math.
- Telescope pointing and operation now come as optional features.
- Image analysis package comes enable by default, as well some image centering algorithms (unfortunately photometry is not supported so far).
- New help menu was specifically developed for Paris. It offers some museums guides (Louvre, d’Orsay, and Les Invalides) and it has a specific kernel for historical events.
- Autosmile: it’s a brand new feature that automatically detects cameras in the surroundings and creates a natural smile for every photo. It was extensively in front of Notre-Dame.
- Many other small but significant changes.
